Thank you for being here! This is Nandini, and you are currently viewing my Journalism Capstone piece. This story is very close to my heart. Dr. Jerzy Kosmala is my friend’s grandfather, and just an amazing and inspiring figure overall.
Dr. Kosmala, one of the world’s premier violists, has lived through the World War, and at 93 is a professor at UCI. At his age, most people have started to slow down. But Dr. Kosmala is ever immersed in the music world. In fact just last year, he was performing in Thailand and this year he has played multiple concerts. What sets him apart isn’t his passion and talent for music, but his love for his family. Through music, he found footing in a new country, and built a life for his family. He has established a legacy of music and love—everybody in his family is now a musician and he taught them first. To understand his journey better, feel free to peruse my project!
