across over 50 countries with “The Eras Tour”, Taylor Swift was responsible for a significant boost to the global economy.

And while her tour not only caused literal earthquakes, the shockwaves of the Taylor’s impact were also able to be felt by an ecosystem of small business owners worldwide.

Kyle Mumma, who graduated from Duke University in 2018, decided to combine his passion for music and technology by launching SwiftAlerts, an app made specifically for the biggest Swifties.

Created with the intention of providing real time updates on concerts and song times within The Eras Tour, the app has since expanded to a network of thousands of users as it continues to grow.

“We had about 13,000 people on our site and heard from a lot of our users things like, I had my dad download the app, so he could play with me, and it’s the first time we’ve ever connected over the Super Bowl. Or things like my husband was talking to his friends about their bets on the length of the national anthem, and he was confused when I chimed in with an opinion.”

“That’s a different experience that a lot of people are having, because there’s something else bringing them in and making them feel included. You go back to making them feel connected, right? With Taylor, there’s connection there that hasn’t existed in the past.”

Kaleigh Longmire, who graduated from the University of Portland in 2013, looked to create unique merchandise for both mothers and children by launching designtwentyfive, a online store that specialized in making “Modern Mama Apparel”.

As a mother of three, her company was able to connect mothers, children, and Swifties nationwide as she launched two Taylor Swift collections that helped expand her business.

“I decided I wanted to launch the new collection on New Year’s Day of this year, as a reference to her song. It’s one of those things like I’ve seen the impact she’s had on the country, but you’d never think like, oh, this is gonna happen to me too. You just don’t know what to expect. And that launch was actually like my biggest launch I’ve had in a really long time.”

“But then it was crazy because when the Chiefs won that last like playoff game knowing they were going to the Super Bowl, I had a Taylor Swift design that didn’t sell too well with my initial collection launch. Then, all of a sudden, wholesale orders started coming in and regular orders and I did $6,000 in sales in like two days, which is not normal for my business.”

“It was really cool to see that impact, because I thought that the first launch I did earlier that month was huge. And there was a lot more customers and people that had never shopped from me before, a ton of customers that were just like finding me on Google search and stuff, which was not how I was normally found. So just a very quick increase in sales right there.”

Kristin Juszczyk, wife of San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, even made national headlines for her small business that was put on the map after Swift personally wore one of her custom designed jackets.

In the span of hours, her company which started as a hobby, would be on the showcased on virtually every newspaper, television, and phone screen.

And needless to say, her small business was

But even with the estimated boatloads of cash that Taylor Swift has brought in to the pockets of economy and small businesses, her greatest impact on the community might be worth the most, without even needing a price tag.
